Most systems have IP (Internet Protocol) connectivity meaning you can gain access to them from the internet and thus gaining access via your smart phone, tablet or computer.
There are two types of storage depending on which type of system you choose which mostly is subject to the budget:
Storage 1 would be the NVR (Network Video Recorder) system which is a dedicated piece of kit with a built in functionality and a hard drive.
Storage 2 would be a high end computer typically an i7 processor, SSD hard drive (not essential), 8gb ram (minimum), Microsoft Windows 7 or above, this is arguably the best system to have which gives you the best functionality but not necessarily the ideal system for you!
